| In January of 2007 The family loaded up and headed to New Mexico: destinations “Wagon Mound Ranch”, to pick out a new heard sire. When we walked into the pen one particularly gentle bull caught my eye. Tracy informed me he had also preformed well in the rope pen. After changing my mind for three days I finally went with my fist instincts and loaded up the mild mannered Mr. Nickel. I am sure Tracy was glad to see us head down the road - not the bull, more so “US”. (Our snot nosed kids had infected John and tore up their house for three days.) When we arrived home we went right to roping him. Some of my buddies got a little tipsy and decided to ride the bull only he didn’t buck. After riding him for a few minutes I said “ I am going to ride him in the parade this September.” So here I am riding “WMR 503 Nickel.” |
